WaterFlow is built around local hydration tracking, practical reminders, and minimal first-party data collection.
1. What WaterFlow Is
WaterFlow is a hydration tracking app. It helps you set a daily goal, log water intake, manage reminders, view statistics, use widgets, connect a watch experience, and unlock premium features where available.
2. Information We Store on Your Device
- Hydration history and water entry events.
- Your daily goal, cup sizes, selected units, reminder interval, wake and sleep times, and notification preferences.
- Achievement progress, widget state, and compatible Wear OS connection settings.
- Premium entitlement state needed to recognize purchases on your device.
3. Accounts and First-Party Data Collection
WaterFlow does not require an account for core tracking. We do not run our own user cloud for hydration history, and we do not ask you to upload your water logs to our servers to use the app.
4. Device Permissions and Why They Are Used
- Notifications: Used to send hydration reminders and related reminder actions.
- Boot and time change events: Used to restore reminder schedules after a restart or time change.
- Internet and network state: Used for Google Play billing, Google Mobile Ads, Play services integrations, and related platform connectivity.
- Exact alarm access: Used on supported Android versions to improve reminder timing accuracy when you enable it.
- Wear OS communication: Used to sync supported watch features, such as quick-add actions and mirrored reminders, between your phone and watch through Google Play Services.
5. Ads, Billing, and Google-Provided Services
- WaterFlow includes Google Play Billing for premium purchases such as monthly, yearly, or lifetime plans.
- WaterFlow also includes Google Mobile Ads in the Android app. Google or its partners may process device and ad-related information under their own privacy terms when ads are shown.
- Google Play, Wear OS services, and other Android platform services may process technical information needed to deliver purchases, ads, app distribution, watch connectivity, and store operations.
Those services are operated by Google or other platform providers, not by WaterFlow directly.
6. Backup and Device Transfer
- WaterFlow offers local-style transfer tools that let you export and import supported hydration data and settings between devices you trust.
- Depending on your Android device and backup settings, some app preferences may also be included in platform-level backup features managed by the operating system or Google.
- We do not promise that every device setup will provide identical backup, restore, or sync behavior.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
WaterFlow stores your hydration data locally on your device for as long as the app is installed. We do not automatically delete your data — it persists until you choose to remove it.
- How long we retain data: All hydration entries, settings, and preferences are stored on your device indefinitely until you actively delete them or uninstall the app. We do not impose automatic expiration on your local data.
- How to delete your data within the app: Open WaterFlow → go to Settings → scroll to the "Other" section at the bottom → tap "Reset Data" → confirm in the dialog. This permanently deletes all hydration records stored by the app.
- How to delete via Android system settings: Go to your device Settings → Apps → WaterFlow → Storage → "Clear Data" or "Clear Storage." This removes all app data immediately.
- Uninstalling the app: Uninstalling WaterFlow removes locally stored app data from your device, subject to any platform-level backups managed by Android or Google that may retain a copy separately.
- You can turn notifications on or off, adjust silent hours, change reminder timing, or stop watch mirroring at any time from within the app settings.
8. Children and Medical Use
WaterFlow is a general wellness app and not a medical service. It is not intended to provide diagnosis, treatment, or emergency guidance. If you have a medical condition or fluid-intake restriction, you should rely on qualified professional advice.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page.
